Depends on what angle you want to take.
You could list smoking, drinking, gambling, or ************. Millions of people find those activities relaxing.
You could also list reading, watching TV, sleeping, or enjoying a hobby like billiards or golf. Millions of people also find those things relaxing.

vanilla, as well as lavender scents have a calming effect, also, doing wall sits(you know the one where you sit in an invisible chair against the wall) the burn you feel takes up all the nervouse energy and helps the rest of you feel more relaxed once you stand up agian. also, closing your eyes, and counting to ten is great too as well as pushing down on pressure points

There are specific breathing exercises called pranayama. There are different breaths for different effects. Ie, if you are nervous you’d do one kind of breathing, if mind is racing, another etc. Do some research on pranayama and simple breathing techniques. I would think one or some of these would help and they are pretty quick to do. You only need a few minutes for some of them. Hope you find one that works for you.

i take a martial art called kajukenpo it is a hawwian art, it is a high energy combat/ self defense class and i’m being taught by Chris Newbury who is a 30 year student under Grand Master Griffin who was one of the best Kenpo masters who ever lived
we learn slowly and eventually become able to apply techniques very fast
the reason it is relaxing is because all of my problems and stresses seem to leave me, the bad chi is forced out through my fists and feet

Those methods aren’t enough to be getting on with? Some people have spent their entire lives just practicing one of them a little better each day, and writing about the rewards of doing so. My advice is stop making excuses about why it’s not working, and do one of them FOR REAL.
But other options, if you really insist, are walking, playing sports, cuddling with a loved one, washing a horse, mowing a lawn, playing with a puppy, carving wooden flutes… by now you should see that the technique doesn’t matter so much. It’s your attitude that counts. Try love and patience and most of all, acceptance, not struggle
I can think of two completely different alternatives to any these, if it helps. One is simple experience and familiarity, so you stop worrying about things that never happen. The other is to practice the thing until you achieve true mastery, so that you know you can cope with anything that might happen. But in this case, I’d recommend the yoga, or meditation (preferably both with deep breathing included).

there are couple of things that i do when i have to go out and speak to public; i consider myself to be the only sane person in the meet up, secondly i look at the general direction of public and often smile couple of times. i stop thinking about the presentation thing for a while and focus on what to deliver. you need to confide in yourself if you want a good session outcome… best a luck…!
